Transportation
- Swiss Pass: Can be bought in Swiss. I paid costly fee since I bought in HIS Japan.
- Swiss transportation schedule, including cable cars and buses, can be searched easily through http://sbb.ch.
- TGV ticket: bought your ticket online, the earlier, the more chance to have cheaper ticket.
Accommodation
- Chamonix Mont-Blanc: Le Vagabond: EUR 18 + 4.5 for the bed sheets. Without breakfast. 6 beds dormitory in an old wooden house, also hosts a bar downstair. The cheapest bed in town, not really clean though. Located about 10 minutes walk from the station, on Av. Ravanel-le-Rouge south part.
- Grindelwald: Downtown Lodge: SF 38 per night for dormitory bed (6 beds per room), including good breakfast. Located about 5 minutes walk from the station. Wifi is free but only accessible near the main building. Recommended for the facility. Was alone for the first night in the room.
- Zermatt: Hotel Tannenhof: SF 45 for single room with double bed, including breakfast, shared bathroom/toilet. Additional SF 5 for Wifi. Good value, considering the location in the city center.
Eating
- Grindelwald: Hotel Bernerhof: Had a very yummy pork steak with Rosti (Swiss style hashed potato with cheese) for SF 20. Near the station.
- Grindelwald: Da Silva: An Italian restaurant, had a steak for SF 20.
- Zurich: Lilys: A casual Thai/ Asian restaurant, very popular amongst the local. Dinner about SF 30 per person.
- Zurich: Mr. Wong: South part, just across the main station in the corner.Got sweet and sour pork meal, with rice for SF 18. The price is reasonable but the taste was soso.
