Hiking Plan de l'Aiguille - Montenvers

Eventhough the train from Montenvers back to Chamonix was not in operation, with a bit uneasy feeling, I decided from Plan de l'Alguille (the middle station of the cable car) to Montenvers.
The trekking took 2.5 hours to Montenvers, then another 2.5 hours from Montenvers back to Chamonix, the city.
The view during the trekking was amazing, especially when I reached the highest point of the trekking route, the Dru peak (Aig. du Dru) was breathtaking. I was lucky since the peak appeared a while from the cloud to meet me.
The view of the glacier Mer de Glace was not that spectacular since the ice was thin on the glacier.
The lesson learnt that you should visit Chamonix before mid of September where all the cable cars and train are in operation.
One interesting thing was the meeting with an old German lady who speaks Japanese well. She is working in the tourist office servicing Japanese visitors since according to her, annually 20,000 Japanese visit Chamonix.
